First off, many computers are already logged into Google in some way and will not let you log in twice without logging out. To get around this you will need to either log out of your current Google (Gmail) account, or open a private browser window. Here's how to do that:
Log out of Google
Click the icon on the top right of your browser window to reveal this page:
Click "Add another account" or click Sign Out and log back in with your CAVA ID.
OR
Open a private browser window
Right-click on the icon in the bottom toolbar on your computer and select "New Incognito window."
Now go to google.com and log in with your . . .
CAVA issued Google account login
Username = student ID number followed by @californiava.org
Password = student's first and last initials (all caps) followed by their birthdate (with no zeros at the beginning of the month or day)
Example
Student: John Max-Power, Student ID 123456, Birthday 08-06-2012
Username: 123456@californiava.org
Password: JM862012
*Please note that this is not a Gmail account. You will use this account for Google Classroom, Google Sheets, and to gain access to class recordings. You cannot send/receive email from it.
**Additionally, this tutorial was designed for people using the Chrome web browser (recommended). If you are using a different browser, the steps to log out and/or open a private browser may be different.
